Luxury apartment tower in Uptown to hit milestone

One of Uptown’s high-profile apartment tower projects along McKinney Avenue is expected to hit a new milestone, as the $75 million, 20-story tower reaches its uppermost height.
The Illinois-based development firm — Stoneleigh Cos. — plans to officially mark the milestone with a topping out ceremony on June 2.
The topping out has been months in the making as the luxury residential and retail tower at the northwest corner of McKinney Avenue and Routh Street has taken shape on the former Hard Rock site in Uptown.
Hunt Construction Group is the general contractor for the tower project and has been attaching the glass exterior for the past few weeks.
One Uptown will include a curvy façade designed by Dallas-based architect Humphreys & Partners.
The street-level retail space has been leased to Fogo De Chao & Bar and Style & Grace (although a name change is expected for the restaurant).
Plans for the tower include 198 luxury apartments, 18,500 square feet of retail and restaurant space and a 480-car underground parking garage.
The tower will have an amenity deck for residents on the rooftop, which will include the city’s highest private rooftop infinity pool, fire pits, outdoor kitchen, cabanas and a game room.
The developer expects to begin leasing apartments to residents by this fall.
